Alpinist & Activist & Mental Coach and Speaker
When Mountains Speak
When Mountains Speak is more than a climbing project, it’s a movement. Founded by Nasim Eshqi, harnesses the power of alpinism to amplify human rights. While many athletes and sponsors often avoid activism for fear of losing financial benefit, Nasim refuses to be silenced. She transforms each ascent into a bold act of justice, creating new routes dedicated to human rights causes, echoing far beyond the rock.
Her first route, Rise Up for Human Rights, was established on Mont Blanc massif, France (2023), followed by her second, Women, Life, Freedom, in the Dolomites, Italy (2024). Each climb is a testament to resilience, solidarity, and freedom. Etched into iconic peaks, these routes stand as enduring symbols, impossible to ignore, impossible to silence. Nasim turns mountains into both spotlight and speaker, exposing the struggles of those unheard.
In April 2025, Nasim opened her third route: a 13-pitch line graded 7a+/7b on Mount Cosidore in Sardinia, Italy.
Titled End Child Marriage, this route is dedicated to children, especially girls, forced into marriage. In Iran alone, over 30,000 girls under 14 are married each year, 10,000 of them under 10. Globally, 12 million girls every year are forced into underage marriage. Their voices silenced. Their futures stolen.
With each meter gained, Nasim gives voice to the voiceless, echoing their struggles from the cliffs into the world.
These children must be protected, these are our future mothers. their voices deserve to be heard.
“Through this route, their silence is broken; their pain acknowledged; their resilience immortalized in stone.''
But her work is far from over.
.
Nasim is already planning her next climb, once again shining light on a critical issue affecting women.
Another mountain. Another route. Another voice that must be heard.
Through alpinism, she confronts urgent human rights issues, believing humanity, like mountain ranges, is bound by shared strength and responsibility.
